**Coverage Details:** - 

**Dates of Coverage:** 6-7 days per month, with potential for additional days.

- **Schedule:** 7 AM to 7 AM.

- **Call Coverage:** Yes, entails both in-house and beeper/phone call responsibilities.

- **Average Call Back Hours:** Daily midwife coverage.

- **Number of Providers Needed:** 1-3.

- **Reason for Coverage:** EMTALA call coverage.

- **Practice Setting:** Inpatient/Hospital-based.

**Patient Demographics:** - **Population:** Adult patients.

- **Patient Mix:** 100% inpatient.

- **Average Daily Census:** 1-6 patients.

- **Trauma Level:** Not applicable.

**Required Clinical Skills and Responsibilities:**

- Management of routine vaginal deliveries, including low forceps deliveries.

- Clinical decision-making for cesarean sections.

- Handling complicated deliveries, including C-sections, breech presentations, multiple births, and abruptions.

- Conducting vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC).

- Repair of third and fourth-degree perineal lacerations.

**Documentation and Technology:** - **EMR System:** EPIC.

**Facility and Operations:**

- Onsite lab and ultrasound facilities available.

- Practice includes a hospital-based labor and delivery suite.

- Low volume of cesarean deliveries expected.

- Midwives will be responsible for call duties and delivering their own patient caseload.

- Nursery Level: II. - Annual Delivery Volume: Approximately 700-800 total deliveries.

- L&D Triage Visits: 140-190 per month.

**Qualifications Required:**

- Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (mandatory).

- Active Kentucky medical license or participation in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) (mandatory).

- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (mandatory).

- Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration (mandatory).
