**Position: Physician Assistant in Orthopedic Surgery**
**Coverage Dates:** Immediate start, pending credentialing, for an initial three-month period with a possible extension up to six months.
**Practice Overview:**
- **Setting:** Combination of hospital and outpatient clinic.
- **Responsibilities:** - Manage orthopedic patients, focusing on post-operative care related to total joint replacements.
- Conduct inpatient rounds and provide clinic coverage, though not responsible for OR duties.
- Inpatient responsibilities include monitoring post-operative patients, managing medications, providing surgical updates, addressing patient inquiries, and overseeing discharges.
- In the clinic, handle a diverse patient load, including new consultations, fracture assessments, post-operative follow-ups, and performing joint injections.

**Work Schedule:** - Monday to Friday:
- Rounding/Clinic: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM. - Clinic Only: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
**Patient Load:** - Rounding typically involves managing 14 to 18 patients per day.
- Clinic settings average 19 to 21 patients daily.
**Electronic Medical Record System:** EPIC.
**Required Certifications:** BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association accepted).
