This on-site, contract position offers an excellent opportunity to work within a thriving medical practice, providing essential support in the specialized field of pediatric surgery.

As a Locum PA in Pediatric Surgery, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality care to our young patients. This position involves collaborating closely with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. You will be instrumental in preoperative and postoperative care, as well as assisting in surgical procedures, making a significant impact on the lives of children and their families.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures for pediatric patients
• Conduct preoperative assessments and postoperative care
• Collaborate with surgical teams and healthcare providers
• Manage patient records and documentation accurately
• Educate patients and families about surgical procedures and recovery
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress during treatment
• Provide support in the clinic and hospital settings
• Adhere to best practices and standards of care in pediatric surgery

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Physician Assistant studies or equivalent
• Active PA license and board certification
• Experience in pediatric surgery or related field strongly preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and compassionate patient care
• Commitment to continuous professional development and training

Schedule: 12-hour shifts

Duties: Cover pediatric surgery practice, inpatient rounding, manage the floor, and possible OR time

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified
