As a Locum NP or PA, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality orthopedic care to our patients. Collaborating closely with surgeons and other medical staff, you will assist in various procedures, pre-operative assessments, and follow-up care, ensuring our patients receive exceptional treatment. This role is essential in maintaining the quality of care and operational efficiency in our orthopedic department.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the assessment and management of orthopedic patients
- Perform physical examinations and develop treatment plans
- Assist surgeons during procedures
- Conduct pre-operative assessments and patient education
- Monitor patient progress and provide follow-up care
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records
- Stay updated with the latest developments in orthopedic practices
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies
- Current NP or PA licensure in the state of practice
- Previous experience in orthopedic settings preferred
- Strong clinical skills and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Knowledge of orthopedics and surgical processes
- Basic life support (BLS) certification required
Orthopedic Surgery PA or NP
- experience assisting and able to function independently
- triage and inpatient rounding
- some follow up for provider with clinic patients
Schedule: Tuesday-Thursday, 7a-5p
- Tues/Thurs in surgery 7a-5p and Wednesday in clinic and IP rounding (client asking for approval for another day of work to make a 4 10s schedule)
Setting: Inpatient & clinic
Duties: Independently provide patient triage, inpatient rounding, and follow-up care for clinic patients
Case Types: Joints, hip, knee, hip fractures, some trauma, and general ortho
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
Paid travel and expenses
