Position Overview
A respected healthcare organization in Longmont, CO is seeking an experienced Locum Tenens NP or PA to support its Neurosurgery team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced practice support to neurosurgeons in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Conduct pre‑operative and post‑operative evaluations, follow‑up visits, and patient education.
- Assist with hospital rounds, consults, and care coordination for neurosurgical patients.
- Manage acute and chronic neurosurgical conditions under physician supervision.
- Perform procedures within scope (e.g., wound care, suture removal, drain management).
- Document patient encounters accurately and maintain compliance with facility standards.
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, care coordinators, and ancillary staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Assignment Details
- Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8a-5p
- Setting: Inpatient and outpatient
- Patient Population: Adults
- Duties: Post-op appointments, inbasket management, and OR assistance
- Support Staff: MA
- EMR: Epic
- Must be board-certified
- DEA and BLS preferred
- Paid travel & expenses
Qualifications
- Active NP or PA license with ability to practice in Colorado
- National certification (AANP/ANCC for NP; NCCPA for PA)
- Prior neurosurgery or surgical specialty experience strongly preferred
- Strong assessment, procedural, and critical‑thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
- Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
