This on-site, contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic medical practice environment where your expertise will directly impact patient care in critical situations.
As a Locum NP or PA in Critical Care, you will play a vital role in assessing and managing patients in critical condition, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of care. This position is essential for providing timely interventions and supporting our commitment to exceptional healthcare services.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial patient assessments and develop evidence-based treatment plans
- Monitor and manage critically ill patients in a high-pressure environment
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals on patient care
- Perform emergency procedures and provide life-saving interventions
- Document patient progress and outcomes in electronic health records
- Educate patients and their families on care plans and health management
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in critical care practices and guidelines
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant program
- Active NP or PA license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a critical care setting
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- Experience with electronic health record systems preferred
Schedule: 7p-7a, 7 on/7 off
Patient Census: 10-15 per day
Mixed medical/surgical ICU population
Will participate in code blue calls and rapid responses
Required Procedures: Central venous catheter placement and peripheral arterial line placement
Must be board-certified
