This contract position is on-site, offering you the opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of newborns and their families within a dynamic medical practice environment.

As a Locum NP in Neonatology, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to critically ill neonates. You will work collaboratively with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and support various initiatives aimed at enhancing neonatal care

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to neonates in a clinical setting
  • Perform physical examinations and assess the health status of patients
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic neonatal conditions
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Educate families about neonatal health and provide support
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Stay current on best practices and advancements in Neonatology

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Nursing; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Current NP license for the state of Indiana
  • Experience in Neonatology or related field is preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Commitment to ongoing education and professional development

Schedule: 24-hour in-house shifts, 7a-7a

Level II NICU, 16 beds

Duties: Rounding, attending deliveries

Procedures: Intubations, umbilicals, PICC lines, thoracentesis, chests, etc.

Support Staff: MD during the day

EMR: Epic

Must be able to work independently

Board certification required
