**Candidate Requirements:**

**Specialty Limitations:** Candidates must be Hospitalists with experience in ICU procedures. Intensivists and Pulmonologists are not eligible.
- **Geographical Restrictions:** Only candidates based in Michigan or those who can commute from nearby areas will be considered.
**Schedule Overview:**
- **Rotation:** 7 days on, 7 days off
9/22 to 9/28
10/06 to 10/12
10/20 to 10/26
11/03 to 11/09
11/17 to 11/23
7a-7p on-site / 7p-7a on call
One day of Orientation - Week of 9/14
Two-Three days of proctoring
- **Shifts:** 7 AM to 7 PM on-site, with 7 PM to 7 AM on-call responsibilities
- **Orientation:** One day of orientation followed by two to three days of proctoring.
**Clinical Responsibilities:**
- **Patient Type:** Inpatient care only
- **Procedural Experience Required:** Candidates must possess substantial experience in respiratory and critical care, as the role is entirely inpatient-focused.
**Core Privileges and Procedures (MD/DO):**
Candidates should request the following privileges, which will not require proctoring, but will be verified:
- Moderate Sedation - Lumbar Puncture - Endotracheal Intubation and Extubation
- Paracentesis and Thoracentesis - Ventilator Management (including readiness assessment for weaning and oxygen therapy)
- Chest Tube Insertion - Insertion of PICC Lines, Arterial Lines, and Central Venous Lines (via percutaneous or cut down methods)
- Arterial Line Insertion and Removal (radial and femoral; these may be considered as a single privilege) - Tracheostomy Care (including tube changes)
- Management of tension pneumothorax in emergencies - External pacing management (including adjusting temporary epicardial, transvenous, or transcutaneous pacemakers)
**Proctoring Requirements:** Candidates must be proctored for five instances of each procedure listed above.
**Clinical Support:** There will be clinical support available.
**EMR and Documentation:** The facility utilizes EPIC and Dragon for EMR and dictation.
**Qualifications and Certifications:**
- Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE)
- ACLS certification required - **Case Logs:
** A minimum of 50 inpatient case logs within the last 12 months must be available for verification.
**Licensing Considerations:** Candidates with an IMLC will be considered; otherwise, a current Michigan license is mandatory.
