As a Locum MD, you will play a pivotal role in diagnosing and treating patients with blood disorders and cancers. Your expertise will be essential in providing comprehensive care and developing treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. This role not only contributes significantly to patient health but also supports our mission to deliver high-quality oncology services in the community
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage patients with hematological and oncological conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Perform procedures related to hematology and oncology
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Conduct patient follow-ups and monitor treatment progress
- Participate in patient education regarding diagnoses and treatment options
- Maintain up-to-date medical knowledge within the hematology oncology field
- Document patient interactions accurately in medical records
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of residency in internal medicine and fellowship in hematology oncology
- State medical license and board certification in hematology oncology
- Strong clinical skills in the assessment and management of oncology patients
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with advances in oncology treatments
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Schedule: Friday 5p-Monday 7a
Level III Trauma
Setting: Inpatient and outpatient
Daily Volume: 12-25 outpatients, 2-8 inpatients
Patient Population: Adult and geriatric
Case Mix: 70% oncology, 30% hematology
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
