 This contract role is an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level professional to join a dedicated team within the medical practice industry. The position entails working on-site, providing top-notch care to patients while gaining invaluable experience in a fast-paced environment.

As a Locum MD specializing in Hematology Oncology, you will play a critical role in diagnosing and treating patients with blood disorders and cancer. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop treatment plans that enhance patient outcomes. This role offers a dynamic work environment and the chance to contribute significantly to patient care and treatment innovations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions
• Formulate and implement individualized treatment plans
• Prescribe and manage chemotherapy and other medical treatments
• Collaborate with oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
• Participate in patient care conferences and case reviews
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment options and care plans
• Stay updated with medical advancements in hematology and oncology

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical school
• Valid medical license to practice in the state of Connecticut
• Completion of residency in hematology oncology
• Clinical experience in hematology and oncology
• Strong diagnostic skills and clinical judgment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
• Compassionate approach to patient care

Schedule: 8:00a-4:30p

Weekend call, 1:9

Daily Census: 13-16 patients

Appointment Durations: 60 minutes for new patients, 40 minutes for transfer patients, 20 minutes for routine follow-ups

40% benign / 60% malignant

Support Staff: 10 MDs and 12 APPs

Must be board-certified
