This contract position offers the opportunity to work on-site in a fast-paced medical practice environment, providing critical care to patients in need.
As a Locum MD, you will play a vital role in our emergency department, responding to acute medical situations and collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care. Your expertise will be instrumental in improving health outcomes and ensuring prompt and effective treatment for diverse medical emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical assessments and treatments for patients in emergency situations
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop treatment plans
- Stabilize patients and perform necessary procedures
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Document patient care effectively and accurately
- Participate in training and supervision of medical residents and staff
- Manage administrative duties related to patient care and department operations
- Adhere to medical protocols and guidelines to ensure high-quality care
Requirements
- MD degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, particularly in emergency medicine
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- Level II Trauma
Schedule: 6:30a-6:30p or 5:30p-6:30a, specific dates
Annual Volume: 13K patients
Facility: 1 trauma room, 11 exam rooms
Case Types: Primarily chest and respiratory complaints
Support Staff: APP and subspecialty support
EMR: T-System
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses
