As a Trauma Surgeon, you will play a vital role in the surgical intervention and management of trauma patients. You will work collaboratively with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, ensuring the highest levels of patient care and safety. Responsibilities
- Assess and manage trauma patients in need of surgical intervention
- Perform surgical procedures and post-operative care
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop treatment plans
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress during recovery
- Provide education and support to patients and their families
- Participate in on-call responsibilities as required
- Stay current with advancements in trauma surgery techniques
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and standards
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Valid medical license in the state of practice
- Completion of a residency program in General Surgery
- Board certification in Trauma Surgery (preferred)
- Strong surgical skills and clinical judgment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement
- Level I Trauma
Schedule: 24-hour in-house and beeper call shifts, 6a-6a
Admissions: 40-80 per day
Patient Population: Adults
Duties: Trauma and acute care surgery
Support Staff: NP, PA
EMR: Cerner
Must be board-certified
ATLS required, BLS and DEA preferred
