A respected healthcare facility in Charleston is seeking an experienced Locum Tenens Neurologist (MD/DO) to provide high‑quality inpatient and/or outpatient neurological care. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of neurological conditions, including stroke, seizures, movement disorders, neuropathies, headaches, and neurodegenerative diseases.
- Provide inpatient consults, rounds, and follow‑up care for hospitalized neurology patients.
- Conduct outpatient clinic visits, evaluations, and long‑term management plans.
- Interpret neurological diagnostics such as EEG, EMG, CT, MRI, and lumbar puncture results.
- Collaborate with hospitalists, emergency physicians, neurosurgeons, and rehabilitation teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to facility protocols and regulatory standards.
- Deliver patient‑centered care with strong communication and clinical judgment.
Assignment Details
- Schedule: 24-hour shifts, 1 week per month
- Setting: Inpatient
- Daily Volume: 6-12 patients
- Case Types: Epilepsy
- Duties: Rounding on inpatients, ICU, NICU, ER, and other consults
- Will round with residents
- Must be board-certified
- Paid travel & expenses
Qualifications
- MD or DO with board certification or board eligibility in Neurology
- Active state medical license (or ability to obtain)
- Current DEA registration
- Strong diagnostic, consultative, and clinical management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent communication and patient‑care skills
