As a Locum Hospitalist, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with medical staff, and ensuring continuity of care for patients. Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients
  • Conduct patient evaluations and assessments
  • Develop and implement treatment plans
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and specialists for optimal patient care
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records
  • Participate in hospital rounds and team meetings
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families
  • Stay current with medical guidelines and best practices

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
  • Valid medical license to practice in the state
  • Experience in a hospitalist role or related field
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to high standards of patient care

24-hour call shifts (5p-5p), 1 week per month

Offsite call after morning rounding

Daily Census: 6 patients

Patient Population: Adult and pediatric

Duties: Perform well baby exams and stabilize newborns post C-section and backup to the ED in emergencies

Vents required in emergent situations only (very rare)

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified

Certifications Required: ACLS, PALS, BLS, ATLS, and NRP
