As a Locum MD, you will play a vital role in the surgical team, ensuring patient safety and comfort during anesthesia for cardiac procedures. Your specialized skills will contribute to our commitment to providing top-tier medical services within the cardiac field, aligning closely with the strategic goals of our practice.
Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia for a variety of surgical procedures, primarily in cardiac cases
- Monitor patient vital signs throughout the perioperative period
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff
- Evaluate patient medical histories and prepare pre-anesthetic assessments
- Manage post-anesthesia recovery and ensure patient safety
- Provide guidance and training to junior staff and medical students
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
- Stay informed of the latest developments in anesthesiology practices and techniques
Requirements
- MD or DO degree with certification in Anesthesiology
- Active medical license in the state of Missouri
- Experience in Cardiac Anesthesiology preferred
- Strong understanding of anesthetic techniques and pharmacology
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care
- Fellowship training in Cardiac Anesthesiology is a plus
Level I Trauma
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 12-hour day shifts
Case Types: Adult cardiac surgery, structural heart interventions, electrophysiology and AF management, advanced heart failure, and adult congenital heart disease
Support Staff: Residents and fellows
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
