As a Locum MD, you will play a vital role in the surgical team, ensuring patient safety and comfort during anesthesia for cardiac procedures. Your specialized skills will contribute to our commitment to providing top-tier medical services within the cardiac field, aligning closely with the strategic goals of our practice.

Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia for a variety of surgical procedures, primarily in cardiac cases
• Monitor patient vital signs throughout the perioperative period
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff
• Evaluate patient medical histories and prepare pre-anesthetic assessments
• Manage post-anesthesia recovery and ensure patient safety
• Provide guidance and training to junior staff and medical students
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
• Stay informed of the latest developments in anesthesiology practices and techniques

Requirements

• MD or DO degree with certification in Anesthesiology
• Active medical license in the state of Missouri
• Experience in Cardiac Anesthesiology preferred
• Strong understanding of anesthetic techniques and pharmacology
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care
• Fellowship training in Cardiac Anesthesiology is a plus

Level I Trauma

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 12-hour day shifts

Case Types: Adult cardiac surgery, structural heart interventions, electrophysiology and AF management, advanced heart failure, and adult congenital heart disease

Support Staff: Residents and fellows

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified
