Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A truck and transport goods to designated locations.
- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of hours worked, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding routes and schedules.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations regarding vehicle operation.
- Transport freight in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that delivery schedules are met.
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo when necessary.
- Complete delivery documentation accurately and submit on time.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle.
- Participate in training sessions and safety meetings as required.
- Cultivate positive relationships with customers and represent the company professionally.
- Be available for occasional overnight trips as required by the schedule.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a Class A driver, preferably in a freight or commercial setting.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting issues on the road.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy loads when necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certifications are a plus.
- Strong time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Flexibility in work hours and routes; open to overtime as needed.
